FAQ: why use ShowroomPro instead of coding a ring builder yourself?

#Build or buy

#Why not just code a ring builder from scratch?

A form with dropdowns for stone, shape and metal is quick to build. What jewelers actually need is the rest: a realistic picture of the ring the shopper chose, a quiz that guides people who don't know jewelry terms, lead capture with consent, follow-up emails, a dashboard to manage and quote leads, and image generation tuned for jewelry. ShowroomPro provides all of that with one snippet, and keeps improving it without changes to the site.

#What would building it myself involve?

At minimum: a multi-step quiz UI with jewelry-specific options and education; image generation that turns choices into consistent, realistic ring renders (prompting, model selection, retries, moderation, storage, watermarking); per-shopper limits so image costs don't run away; lead storage, notifications and privacy handling; an admin view for the jeweler; and an embeddable widget that works across Shopify, WordPress, Wix and other builders. Expect weeks of work plus ongoing API costs and maintenance, versus minutes for the snippet.

#When is building it myself the better choice?

When you need things ShowroomPro doesn't do: selecting real SKUs from your own inventory with live pricing and checkout, CAD-accurate 3D models of specific settings, or a fully custom UX that must live in your own codebase. In those cases an inventory-based ring builder, a 3D product configurator or a custom build may fit better. See ShowroomPro vs. alternatives.

#Is ShowroomPro a 3D configurator?

Not in the catalog sense. Shoppers design their ring in a guided quiz and see photorealistic AI images of it, and a finished design can then be turned into an interactive 3D model (see Can shoppers see their ring in 3D?). It doesn't require 3D models of a fixed set of components the way a traditional 3D product configurator does.

#Does it sell rings or take payments?

No. The ring builder captures the design and the shopper's details, and the jeweler follows up with a quote. It doesn't add products to a cart or run checkout for shoppers. (Jewelers can separately have ShowroomPro manufacture an approved design; see Does ShowroomPro manufacture the rings?)

#What ShowroomPro includes

#What does ShowroomPro include besides the ring builder?

The embeddable ring builder is the entry point. A jeweler's ShowroomPro account also includes:

  • Engagement ring and wedding band builders: guided quizzes for engagement rings and for women's and men's wedding bands, with photorealistic AI renders the shopper can refine.
  • 3D viewer: finished designs can be turned into an interactive 3D model the shopper can rotate.
  • Manufacturing: ShowroomPro can manufacture the ring from an approved design.
  • Designer dashboard: every lead with contact details, design choices and images, a pipeline from new lead to closed sale, and manufacturing status and notes for approved designs.
  • Lead Concierge: an AI assistant that follows up with new leads, learns what they want and offers the jeweler's booking link.
  • Email automations: follow-up emails that go out automatically after a shopper designs a ring.
  • AI Content Studio: AI-generated ring photography for listings, social posts, ads and emails, without a photo shoot.
  • Integrations: webhooks, conversion tracking for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel, and lead sync to Klaviyo.

Which of these are included depends on the plan. See pricing.

#Can shoppers see their ring in 3D?

Yes. On plans that include the 3D Ring Builder, a shopper can turn a finished design into an interactive 3D model and rotate it on their design page. The model is generated from the design's AI image, so it shows the same ring. Jewelers also get the 3D files for their own design and production work. The number of 3D models per month depends on the plan.

#Does ShowroomPro manufacture the rings?

Yes. Besides helping jewelers win custom ring leads, ShowroomPro offers manufacturing: a jeweler can have ShowroomPro make the ring from an approved design. Shoppers don't order from ShowroomPro directly; the jeweler stays the seller and handles the quote and the customer relationship. Book a demo for details.

#What is the AI Content Studio?

A tool in the jeweler's dashboard that generates photorealistic ring photography without a photographer: studio and catalog shots, lifestyle scenes and images sized for social posts, ads and emails. Jewelers can build a ring from scratch in the studio or start from an existing design, and keep everything in a content library.

#What is Lead Concierge?

An AI assistant that contacts new leads after they design a ring (by text message or email, depending on the studio's setup), asks about what they want and offers the jeweler's booking link when they're ready. It follows the jeweler's instructions, and the jeweler can read every conversation and take it over at any time.

#Using it

#Do I need an account or API key to try it?

No. POST /api/v1/sandboxes creates a working ring builder with no auth. The jeweler claims it later with a private link, which starts a 7-day free trial. See the Quickstart.

#Which platforms does it work on?

Any site that can show HTML: plain HTML, React, Next.js, Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, BigCommerce and others. See the install guides.

#Can I customize it?

The jeweler sets the logo, colors, welcome text, quiz language and which options shoppers see in the ShowroomPro dashboard. On the site you can choose the display mode, button label and colors, and open it from your own buttons with the JavaScript API.

#How do leads get to the jeweler?

Every lead lands in the ShowroomPro dashboard with the shopper's contact details, every design choice and the generated images, and the jeweler gets an email. To send leads to a CRM or another system, use webhooks.

#Does it slow down the site?

embed.js is a single small script loaded with async, with no dependencies. The quiz itself loads in an iframe only where the widget is shown, or when the popup opens.

#Is shopper data shared with the host page?

No. Widget events and conversion-tracking messages never include names, emails or phone numbers. Leads are only available to the jeweler in the dashboard and through signed webhooks.

#Is there an npm package, React component or MCP server?

Not yet. Use the script snippet as shown in the React and Next.js guides, and the HTTP API for automation. See For AI agents.

#How much does it cost?

Creating a sandbox is free. After claiming, the jeweler gets a 7-day free trial and then chooses a plan. See pricing.
